Menu Commands

The following menu commands are available:

File menu

New Songbook
Unloads the current Songbook File, if one is loaded; and clears the contents of the "Songs to print" list.
Open Songbook...
Opens a Songbook File and sets the contents of "Songs to print" list to the list contained in the Songbook File.
Save Songbook
Saves the current "Songs to print" list into the currently loaded Songbook File, without prompting for a new filename.
Save Songbook As...
Saves the current "Songs to print" list as a new Songbook File. A file dialog will open and prompt for a new filename.
Reveal Songs in Explorer (Finder)
Opens an Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac) window displaying the contents of the songs folder.
Rescan Songs
Causes the list of songs to be re-read from the songs folder. This might sometimes be necessary in order for Songsheet Generator to "see" some changes to the songs if they were edited outside of Songsheet Generator.
New Song File
Creates a new song file in the songs folder, with a unique filename, and opens it in the text editor. A song template is copied into the new song file, to provides the basic framework for creating a ChordPro song file.
Edit Song
Opens the selected song file in the text editor of your choice. By default, the editor is Notepad, but any text editor may be used. The editor may be changed on the General Options property page.
Import Song...
Opens a plain text file and attempts to convert the file to the ChordPro format. This function works on songs in the CRD format.
Printer Setup...
Opens the Printer Setup dialog, which allows detailed control of the printed output. Settings made in the printer Setup dialog, such as printer selection, paper size, and draft printing, will be retained for all print jobs (and Print Preview) during the current Songsheet Generator session.
Note: page orientation (portrait or landscape) is automatically selected by Songsheet Generator for each print job based on the current page layout style, but it can be overridden. See the page layout topic for more information.
Print Preview...
Opens a Print Preview window, which displays a preview of the printed output.
Note: this command is only available when the current output destination is set to "Printer", and when at least one song has been added to the "Songs to print" list.
Print Table of Contents Only...
Prints the titles of the song files in the "Songs to print" list as a Table of Contents to the current output destination.
Note: this command is only available when at least one song has been added to the "Songs to print" list.
Print...
Prints the song files in the "Songs to print" list to the current output destination. If the current output is set to "Printer", a print dialog will open to confirm the options for the printer. If the current output is set to "HTML" or "Text", a file dialog will open and prompt for a new filename to save the output to.
Note: this command is only available when at least one song has been added to the "Songs to print" list.
Exit
Exits the Songsheet Generator program.

Options menu

This menu contains a set of shortcuts to commonly used controls from the Options property pages. See the General, Printer, HTML, and Full Screen Options topics for more specific information.

Set Path to Songs...
This menu item will open a directory chooser dialog that can be used to change the folder where Songsheet Generator will look for song files. This is the same function as the "Browse" button on the General Options property page.
Page Layout
The items in this submenu select the format of output to the printer destination. See the page layout topic for more information.
All Songs
The items in this submenu change values for all songs in the "Songs to print" list; they will override any settings for individual songs. These settings apply to any output destination:
Print Chords / Do Not Print Chords
These checked items select whether chords will or will not be printed.
Transpose
These items provide a quick means to change the transposition setting for all songs at once.
Output destination
These items select the current output destination: Printer, Text, or HTML.
Save/Load options settings...
These items allow the options settings to be saved in and loaded from a file. Use this feature to store separate sets of font, page layout, or song location settings.
Enter registration code...
This menu item can be used to enter a registration code that will authorize Songsheet Generator and permanently disable the registration nag screen that appears from time to time.
General/Printer/HTML/Full Screen...
These items open the Options property pages.

View menu

Full Screen
This item switches to the Full Screen Presentation.
Instant Full Screen
This item displays songs selected in the "Songs available" list in the Full Screen Presentation.
Note: this command is only available when at least one song has been selected in the "Songs available" list.
